What size and type of position or torque converter we need?
My husband has a 1966 Plymouth Belvedere II. It has a 383 with an automatic 727 miles. CAM do not know what size it is, but an idler who wants to stop and the truck doesn't have a large block should have. I just need to know what must obtain to install it. If you could post links I would appreciate it.
It's really difficult to choose a torque converter to know the specification of cam, and rear gear ratio, but most modd'ed generation engines will be like a 2600-3200 converter range. if a combo lighter then go with a combo hot alittle 2600-2800 If after a stalemate now 2800-3000 or 3000-3200 at idle could be a lot of things. Watch the fall RPM of the park to drive. If this is a conversion issue (very low loss of speed) RPM pul LTHE plummeted. Like 600 or more RPM. If that is the case, then it will require a higher position if he is doing with 200-400 rpm to drive the park below the stalling / going dead is an optimization problem. It might be time, or carbohydrates. You may need more time idling (advance time), then set the screws on the idle mixture carbohydrates, using a meter connected to VAC VAC total intake. Turn the screws one by one, seeking as much vaccine you can get.
