The thought behind it is to have all the speakers in your car set up exactly like that surround sound audio system you have in your living room. There is a reason why everyone wants one in their car. It simply sounds incredible. Here is how you can go about bringing that movie theater sound experience into your daily ride to work.

• One of the first goals to check off your list is find a stereo head unit which allows you to wire in a surround-sound processor. Since the processor will be digital, your head unit needs to supply a digital signal. You will also need fiber-optic cables. They are used to transmit digital signals between the components. If you previously purchased a nice head unit but it cannot supply digital signals, get a CD changer with fiber-optic connection. Connect the processor to the CD changer but remember that unit you will not get a surround-sound effect, if you play a CD. You can always select a surround-sound processor that converts RCA signals to digital.
• Make sure your car is equipped with a high-end CD changer and/or DVD unit that plays the software that carries the surround-sound signals.
• You should install a five-channel amplifier that can provide power for the front speakers, the rear speakers, and the subwoofers. Each corner of the car plus the subwoofers will be separate channels.
• The center channel should have a 4- to 6-inch midrange speaker and a tweeter. This type of combination should be in its own enclosure and placed in the center portion of the carÂ’s dashboard.
• You now need to install an amplifier to run the center-channel speakers. You can get away with a two-channel amplifier played bridged mono but have it contain an electronic crossover which can be outboard, or built in to the amplifiers.
• You are now set to begin installing the speakers which will be in all four corners of the car. Some of the newer cars already have speaker locations work perfectly surround-sound setting. Older cars are a different story and will require a touch of imagination and some work. YouÂ’ll need to add a tweeter high on the pillar at shoulder height, while a midrange speaker is used in the factory-made opening in the door.
• Now that all of your speakers are in place, set the electronic crossover for the center channel. Don't play it at full range but opt instead for about 80 Hz and up for optimal sound quality.
• Once everything has been installed, adjust the system to find the perfect fit of sound quality and volume for you. Play around with the amplifier gains and then the surround sound processor for any type of tweaks you may need.

Yes, I could have called AAA, but as you probably have experienced, that can sometimes take anywhere from an hour to several hours depending on your location. My point is that I have realized from that experience how much a portable battery jump starter with an air compressor could have helped and how it really is an overlooked tool that should be in every car trunk for emergency.

So around last year I started browsing for portable battery jump starters with air compressors online. To my surprise, I did not find too many websites offering them, not as much as I presumed anyway. Fortunately, now there are plenty of these jump starters with air compressors online and hey, when your old man's birthday comes around guess what you can buy him!

So, for practical drivers out there I hope my story grabs your attention, because I've noticed that many of my friends and family have never owned a tool like a portable jump starter. I want to get one for my Dad, he would love it. I've recently discovered that some battery jump starters have the "all-in-one" features of built-in light and power source and inverter!

As you all know, keeping your tires properly inflated is one key way to maximize performance and gas mileage for your vehicle. It reduces the "drag." Experts estimate that you can improve your gas mileage by up to 3.3 percent with proper tire pressure. That's a savings of about $0.11 per gallon. I

know that does not sound like much, but with gas prices at record highs, every bit helps. Under-inflated tires, however, can lower gas mileage by as much as 0.4 percent for every 1 psi drop in pressure of all four tires. Plus, properly inflated tires are actually safer and last longer. Remember to always look for the maximum psi on your tires before you get carried away pumping. I always keep a Vector 400 amp jump starter with air compressor in the trunk of my car. What's so cool is that it even has a pressure gauge to read the psi while pumping the tires.

As far as jump starting your car, always follow the safety tips and read the manual of your jump starter.

Also, experts recommend to wear polycarbonate goggles with the designation Z-87 on the frame that are splash-proof and designed for activities like automotive repair.

Again, there are even more uses for a portable battery jump starter with a power source. The portable 12 volt power source can power up small electrical devices while camping for instance. I even jammed on my electrical guitar with my friend outside at a park while hooking up my mini amplifier to my portable jump starter with power source!

So, even if you never have to use your portable battery jump starter to jump start your own car, you may have the opportunity to help a friend or neighbor in need of a jump start. They may need their tires inflated with a portable air compressor.

now i can see the speaker, but the plastic that holds the speaker to door is held on by 3 metal screw looking things. They're not screws, they are flat across the top with a single hold in the center of the top. Any ideas on how to remove these?

Yes in fact this is true but I think they are inflating the price a bit. One way to tell if it is in fact true...is to put the key into the ignition cylinder (DO NOT turn the car on or the key on...just stick the key in) open the drivers side door and see where the beeping will come from. If the beeps are coming from somewhere in the dash...you are ok and don't need that harness and you should be able to use a standard GM interface harness to install your new deck. However...If the beeps are coming from the drivers side front speaker...you NEED the harness they told you about to retain the beeping function (for your headlights-are-on beeps, key-in-cylinder beeps, etc.) If any of my customers got into an accident after I did the install, and the airbags never deployed when they should've and somehow they trace it back to me...I'd probably somehow end up being liable for damages/injuries.

If I am not mistaken...you don't truly NEED the beeps to function like stock...but I NEVER did a head-pop on those vehicles without that correct harness to take myself out of the liability.

Long trips in your glorious BMW 328i or 330Ci just would not be the same without your super auto audio system in place. Instead of a boring wait to get where you are going, your trip is transformed by the addition of music via your integrated iPod, satellite or terrestrial radio, audiobooks or your favorite talk shows being served up on your car stereo's amazing audio technology. 328i speakers and 330Ci speakers are key to hearing it all with crystal clarity and definition. There are different varieties of speakers that can make a difference in the type of sound that speaker can produce.

Coaxial speakers are favored for ease of installation because all of the drivers and crossovers are already built into them. If you wish your BMW to have a more precise sound system, perhaps if you want to hear those high violin notes come through loud and clear in your classical music, then you might want to go for separates. This is when you purchase individual components for specific placement locations within your vehicle, in order to obtain the sound you prefer.

For those wishing even more customization in the sound that their car stereo system can produce, horns might be in order. By using horns, you can dispense with the tweeters in your stereo system, because horns pick up the mid and high range frequencies very well. They are more costly than traditional speakers, however, and often require an appropriate equalizer.

Center channels are another type of speaker you could consider installing in your BMW 328i or 330Ci. This specialized speaker's function is to bring the vocals of the song you are listening to on your car's stereo to the front of the car. Sometimes car speakers are installed in door panels, and that can lead to a little less immediacy of sound than when the prominent sound line you would like to hear, namely the vocals, are brought closer up to your ears rather than your feet. Music has become an integral part of driving and every driver wants music while driving for different reasons. Either to distract your head during traffic jams, to stay awake while driving or to amuse your kids who accompany you on drives.

Apart from the performance of the car, people now tend to pay a lot of attention to the interiors and accessories of the cars. One of main accessories that everyone wants to put in their car is the Car Stereo System.

A lot of attention is paid now while choosing the car stereo system to make the driving experience worthwhile and to please you with the best sound.

The car stereo system has many components and it is up to the owner to choose and install, according to their own specific budget.

The basic two components are:

• Head - The head is the main part and is available in the market under various known brands. This part is usually installed in center of the dashboard between the passenger and the driver. It is the main unit and houses most of the components of the car. The common components on today's heads are the FM/AM component, the CD/Tape Changer, the USB connector and the amplifier.
• Speaker System - There are many speaker systems that are available in the market and the speakers can be fitted onto the doors, the boot of the car, the center dashboard etc. The stereo head determines the number of speakers that can be fitted into the car but usually is 4 speakers directly connected to the central unit. There is also (and some car companies are starting to do that) the possibility to add Tweeters, which are small speakers that only makes high frequencies. This is particularly good to have a more 'complete' sound.

Now you should be asking in which component you should spend more money. OK, the answer is not simple: Buying an excellent Radio and awful speakers will really compromise your sound quality; however, if you buy a decent radio and some good speakers, your sound quality should be just good.

My advice in Speakers is to look for some good Sony Explod or JBL. In radios, currently I use my default Mitsubishi radio, but I used to have a Sony too.
